This document will walk you through setting up SCIM user and group provisioning for Drip7 with any client using Azure Entra ID (formerly Active Directory). The overall process is quite easy, and automates synchronizing users and groups between Entra ID and Drip7.
Requires network admin permissions with the organization
Open the Azure Portal, and navigate to your Entra ID. Click on Enterprise applications, and then New application.
Click on Create your own application, name it Drip7, and choose Integrate any other application you don’t find in the gallery. Hit Create.
When your enterprise application is created, click on Provisioning. On the provision screen, switch Provisioning Mode from Manual to Automatic.
In a new tab/window, open your Drip7 Admin Dashboard, click on Tenants, then the Main Information tab at the top. Scroll down to the Authorization and Provisioning section.
You’ll need both the Scim Endpoint and the Bearer Token. Click on the refresh button to generate a random bearer token. Then use the copy buttons to copy each to the clipboard and paste them into the Entra ID fields. You can use Test Connection to make sure you have it configured correctly. Make sure to save your changes.
Now we need to make sure the attribute mappings are configured. Specifically, the external id needs to be mapped to the user’s object id. Go back to your new application’s overview, then choose provisioning, then Attribute mapping. Choose “Provision Microsoft Entra ID Users”:
Scroll down to the attribute list, and find “externalId”. Click on Edit. For “Source Attribute”, choose objectId. (On my configuration, it was set to mailNickname.) Click on OK to exit this screen, then choose Save to save these mappings.
In Entra ID, return to your Drip7 enterprise application, and click on Users and Groups. Then click on Add User/Group. Select the users and groups from your organization that you want to participate in Drip7.
Hit Select, then hit Assign.
That’s it. Entra ID will periodically sync users and groups to Drip7 through SCIM.
